Welcome to the Evanston Clinic of Integrative Medicine!
My name is Inna Melnikov, founder of the clinic. I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and a Licensed Acupuncturist, and have been a practitioner of Integrative Medicine for 32 years. I am National Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
I started practicing Integrative Medicine in 1988 at one of the large outpatient hospital clinics in Moscow, Russia. While working there, I traveled with a group of doctors to practice Integrative Medicine in the Caucasus mountain region, Northern Russia, and Siberia. For my achievements in developing and implementation of Integrative Medicine in Russia, I was awarded membership in the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1991. It was formative time for me, and I learned a lot. More learning followed when I moved to the United States in 1992.
I studied Western Medical Sciences at the National University of Health Sciences, and Eastern Medical Sciences at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. After many years working in private practice, I felt that I'd like to share my knowledge. As a faculty member of Northwestern University and a clinic supervisor at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, I got the chance to do that. I spent seven years working at PCOM, and later returned to my alma-mater, the National University of Health Sciences, to teach postgraduate programs. Now, I enjoy the best of both worlds by teaching postgraduate and medical students throughout the United States, and treating my patients with Acupuncture and Chinese Pharmaceutical Herbs. In 2018, I was invited to join the Accreditation Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) as a site visitor to inspect colleges for accreditation. In January of 2019, I started my doctoral studies at the Pacific College of Health and Science, and graduated in August of 2020.
There's also a third side. I also play violin, guitar, sing, write and record music. I love jogging along the lake front in Evanston, swimming during the summer time, and sailing with the Northwestern University Sailing Center during the summer. I write about Chicago Architecture and music at America Illustrated Magazine. I am the wife of an architect. In the world of serious people, I am known for my advocacy for the health policy change and environmental health. Eastern Philosophy and practice of Oriental Medicine are important parts of my life. I owe a lot to my family, mentors, teachers, colleagues, patients, and friends for sharing with me the love for what I do. I am looking forward to the opportunities to give it back. Thank you, and love to all!
